In June of 2006, a group of East Texas businessmen set out to build one of Texas’ finest resorts. They were determined to find just the right place for beauty, access and marketability. Canton Texas became the target area of their search. What they discovered was a beautiful working cattle ranch, immediately adjacent to the World Famous Canton First Monday Trade Day grounds. To provide the finest in RV and recreation cottages, they assembled 200 contiguous acres along the banks of Mill Creek. Not satisfied with just another RV park, they hired an award winning former executive of state and national parks to plan, design, develop and operate this first class resort.
On the property, beautiful Mill Creek meanders through the rich bottom lands giving the resort a serenity perfectly suited for RV and resort guests. Mill Creek Ranch Resort caters to groups, corporate meetings, retreats, seminars, team building activities, weddings, receptions, reunions and RV rallies.
 Construction began on the project in April of 2007. And while rain delays from the wettest spring and summer in history delayed completion, the Grand Opening was celebrated July 10, 2008. The resort won “Business of the Year” in its first year of operation and is rated second in Texas RV Resorts.
Resort amenities include a 100 site RV Resort with full hook-ups, cabins and cottages, two resort swimming pools, hot tub, RV Lodge, stocked ponds, streams, hiking trails, beautiful garden area, Outdoor Pavilion with a grill and smoker, poolside Cabana, gated playground, and Grand Lodge, overlooking the lush valley below with conference and banquet facilities.
